Stock accuracy starts at the point of scan.

A total stock number is easy. Knowing which shelf, which bin, which of three sites holds it is the hard part — and it’s the part that decides whether a pick fails.

We connect the WMS to Shopify so goods-in updates location-level stock the moment it’s scanned, picking and packing move the order status forward automatically, and despatch confirmation with a tracking number fires back to Shopify by webhook and out to the customer. Where a 3PL runs the shed, the handover works the same way — orders out, confirmations back, no email in the middle.

(03) — How it works

Built around the pick, pack, despatch cycle.

This isn’t a finance sync wearing a different label. A WMS integration lives where stock physically moves — and it has to survive a busy goods-in bay, a mis-scan, a partial pick.

What we build for the warehouse side:

  • Goods-in received into the WMS updates Shopify stock automatically, at the location it landed in, not just as one national total.
  • Pick, pack and despatch each move the Shopify order forward, so support staff can see exactly where an order sits without calling the warehouse.
  • Despatch confirmations carry the courier and tracking reference back to Shopify by webhook, and out to the customer automatically.
  • Multi-location and 3PL setups are handled properly — stock and orders route to the right shed without manual splitting.
  • Short-picks, damages and stock adjustments write back immediately, so Shopify reflects what the warehouse can still fulfil.
  • Alerting flags a stalled sync or a stuck order before it becomes a missed despatch cut-off.

We’ve worked with a vast range of WMS platforms — enterprise warehouse systems, mid-market picking software, and the in-house tools plenty of operations still run their floor on. If it can tell us what happened to a parcel, we can get that back into Shopify.

(04) — FAQ

Shopify WMS integration, answered.

What does a Shopify WMS integration cost?

It depends on how many warehouses or 3PLs are involved and how much manual handling currently sits between them. A single-site goods-in sync is a smaller job than a multi-location integration with 3PL handover. We scope your setup first and give you a fixed, itemised quote before any work starts.

How long does a WMS integration take?

Most single-site integrations are measured in weeks; multi-location and 3PL handovers take longer. You get a firm timeline once we understand your pick, pack and despatch process.

Will this work with our 3PL?

Yes. Whether your own warehouse runs the WMS or a third-party logistics partner does, the integration works the same way — orders flow out, confirmations and tracking flow back. We've connected Shopify to a vast range of warehouse and 3PL systems.

Can it handle stock across multiple locations?

Yes — that's usually the point. We sync stock at the location level, not as one blended total, so Shopify knows exactly what's sitting where. That's what stops an order being accepted for stock that's three sites away and out of reach for today's despatch.

What happens if a sync fails mid-shift?

Every sync is monitored. If something can't be processed safely, it's held for review rather than pushed through wrong, and a stalled feed is flagged before it turns into a missed despatch cut-off.
